Malaysia’s top university to offer ICDL programmes on campus

ICDL Asia reached another significant milestone as it welcomed the top university in Malaysia, University of Malaya (UM), as a newly accredited test centre in the country.

UM will offer ICDL programmes to students and staff through its private education centre, called UM Innovations.

In an opening speech during the signing ceremony, Professor Kamila Ghazali, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & Internationalization), expressed her enthusiastic support for the partnership. Professor Kamila is optimistic that more students will enroll for the ICDL certification programme as it is part of UM’s initiative to prepare the students for the Industrial Revolution 4.0 demands of the future workforce.

ICDL Asia’s General Manager, Ms Tina Wu and Professor Dr Rofina Yasmin Othman, Executive Director of UM Innovations and Associate Vice Chancellor (Industry and Community Networks) signed the memorandum of understanding to officiate this collaboration.

Another memorandum of understanding was signed between UM’s Faculty of Engineering and Siemens Industry Software Pte. Ltd. to introduce the ICDL 3D Design module to lecturers and students using Siemens’ Solid Edge® software.
