104 candidates have been accredited with ICDL in Aden, Yemen, through the ‘Tamkeen’ empowerment project. The project aims to equip 850 young Yemenis with skills in various areas to improve their quality of life. These areas include digital skills with the ICDL programme, mobile phone maintenance, design, and other related areas. In total, the project is funding 245 men and women to complete ICDL, with 125 in Aden and 120 in Taiz.
This project follows several years of civil war in the country, which led to the suspension of training projects alongside the devastating impact on the economic status and wellbeing of the population. More than 20 million Yemenis are suffering from hunger, disease, and displacement. The Tamkeen Project is funded and implemented by the Kuwait Society for Relief in ten cities in Yemen.
