ICDL certification will be available to students and staff at 279 vocational colleges in China from September this year. The National Centre for Educational Technology (NCET), part of the Chinese Ministry of Education, announced the roll-out on 20 June.
More than 300 vocational colleges applied to become ICDL test centres. Only 279 were selected. Training for teachers is planned to take place over the summer holiday period at six NCET provincial offices. Students and staff at the colleges will start to prepare for ICDL certification from September when the new academic year starts.
During their training, the teachers will each follow eight ICDL modules: Advanced Word Processing, Advanced Spreadsheets, Advanced Presentation, 3D Design, IT Security, Project Planning, Digital Marketing, and ICT in Education.
